about

'One More Round' is a mixture of songs about love and struggle, about happy and sad times; it's about life itself. These songs are built around events that I've witnessed or heard about, about characters and situations I've encountered in my travels and I've tried to craft all of this into some captivating tales for the listener. I'm sure there is a line or a piece in one of these songs that everyone can relate to in some way; they're folk songs, they're ballads, they're sing along songs - call them what you like. Recorded with great friends and musicians using both acoustic and electric instruments over the course of a couple of hard winters, a hot summer and everything else inbetween; i hope I've put together an album you're gonna enjoy - Gotta go, I feel a song comin' on!

The album. 'One More Round', over the course of fifteen songs introduces the listener to folk stylings and song craft of Paul McCormack. Recored in a rugged, rural environment, deep in the Kildare countryside with an assortment of the counties musicians from a variety of disciplines who helped bring these songs to fruition. the soft fiddle tones and low whistles on top of the acoustic six string and electric bass, matched by madolins, organs and more, all lifted by gentle backing vocals all help to compliment the themes of these songs and develop a backdrop for Paul's stories.
